With the vast availability of images and assets now easily accessible from websites like freepik, at EasyFits we still needed assets that conveyed a strong personal touch in order to entice users to engage as well as resonate with the brand. These assets needed to personally reflect EasyFits' brand guidelines, giving users a familer outlook when interacting with the products and platfomr. Therefore, I was responsible for creating such assests. I used Adobe Illustrator to create EasyFits assests, utilising both 2D and 3D rendering, as well as Illustrator's AI (vector graphic, generative recolour and generative shape fill) to not only enhance the look of the assests but also begin to create a uniqueness found at EasyFits.
In order to engage users into completing quizzes we had created for research gathering purposes, we needed to gamify the experience. One way we thought of was to come up with a badge systems, where users could earn vairous badges through completing these quizzes and tasks, and eventually collect enough badges to earn exclusive rewards. And so, to keep it simple yet asthetic, badges were created using the brand colours for that sense of familiarity, which could then be used as a base and insert images inside.
3D rendered UI:
Badges and assets combined:
As per how any design process begins, I would roughly sketch in Illustrator an outline to the asset I would be attempting to create, and from there begin to add the final touches such as colour and shading. Only then could I using Illustrator's 3D rendered to transform these images into 3D images. Taking note of images and shapes that would not render well, and adjusting the 3D work to create either more bubble-like UI or UI with more sharp and defined edges, such as that seen in the image below.
The defined edges on this circular EasyFits' icon was used to symbolise a coin.
With the emerging technology and AI tools, it is no doubt such tools can be used to our advanatge to create stunning UI that doesn't feel generic or basic. I beleive that UI in apps, websites and digital products needs to have some element of uniqueness to the brand. This gives users a chance to feel familiar with what they're interactng with, and a chance to perhaps even relate with the brand from various other platforms.
Crafting a brand identity starts with implementing a one-of-a-kind UI.
